Elizabeth van Lent is a writer, maker, and forager from Fairbanks, Alaska. In her work, van Lent uses themes of nature, magic, and myth to create narratives: stories from both her own imagined world as well as history's dusty dreams.

Van Lent graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in May of 2017 with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art with an Emphasis in Writing. Her thesis was a long format fiction narrative titled Fur of a Beast. This story followed one woman on her path through the woods and her insanity.

Since then, van Lent has returned to her home state. She attended the Kachemak Bay Writer's Conference in Homer, Alaska, where she continued her writing education. Currently, van Lent is working towards her first solo exhibition, which will take place July 2018 at Snow City Café, Anchorage.
